In
1931, Lau Hoe Lurng went to promote Chinese martial arts in Vietnam, while his younger
brother (Lau Jum Lurng) remained in Hong Kong to assist Chow Tin.
In 1937, Lau Hoe Lurng founded the first Chow Ka school of Vietnam in Ho-Chi-Min City.
Lau Hoe Lurng's students
eventually opened many more schools, swelling the total number of students beyong count. This
established Lau Hoe Lurng as a famous martial artist in the region, and made Chow Ka the most
successful martial arts school in Vietnam. As of 1997, the original Ho-Chi-Min City branch had 108 students,
all of whom are hard working, dedicated, creative and have never refused invitations to
perform for charity.
Today, most of the Chow Ka schools in Vietnam are derived from Lau Hoe Lurng, just as most of the
schools in Hong Kong and
Kowloon are derived from Chow Biu, Chow Hip and Chow Tin.
Chow Ka also has many more schools and students all over the world creating strong foundations for
