What will training cover?
In general, sensible physical exercise of any kind will improve health and overall fitness.
However, Chow Ka kung fu training will also equip its practitioner with additional skills in:
- Self-defence
- Traditional Chinese weaponry
- Kung-fu patterns or forms
- Specific footwork training
- Balance training
- Traditional Chinese lion dance
- Optional training for martial arts demonstrations
- Optional training for tournament fighting
Are there any physical or medical restrictions?
Not all exercises are suitable for everyone. Anyone with health or mobility problems should consult a
doctor before and during training. If medical advice disapproves this type of activity, training should
not be undertaken. Where limited approval is given, training can be modified to account for the health
or mobility problems of an individual.
Are there any age restrictions?
Sifu Patrick accepts students of any age, male or female. However, students must be of an age where they
can accept instruction and be physically capable. Generally speaking first time practitioners should be
at least 5 or 6 years old.
Can I come and watch?
All visitors are welcome to watch or try a few training sessions before deciding whether Shaolin Chow Ka
kung fu is suitable for them.
